Come Visit Us!

Our volunteers make every effort to ensure that there is a good match for each adopted cat/kitten and its new family.  We have an adoption contract that we ask each adopter to read and to sign, and we provide the background of the cat (where it was rescued from and the vet work that the cat has had).

We ask for an adoption fee that varies according to the amount of vet work that has been provided for the cat.  If the cat is not already spayed or neutered at the time of adoption, we also require an additional spay/neuter deposit that is returned to you as soon as we receive proof that the cat has been altered.  In this way, we are trying to reduce the population of homeless cats/kittens.

Foster cats/kittens can be seen at our weekend adoption events or their foster homes by appointment.

Meet Stanley & George!

Rascal

This one year old beauty is still just a baby - in the body of a full-grown cat. Rascal was adopted as a kitten and returned to C4P because of a moving situation. Rascal is used to having her own family to love her. She is extremely affectionate and wants nothing more than all of your attention. She will play with you, cuddle with you, watch TV with you - whatever you want to do as long as you love her. Rascal is spayed, fully vaccinated, and felv/fiv negative. Please contact Diane at c4pcats@aol.com or (908)377-4579"A meow massages the heart."

Meet Stanley & George!

Arthur

Say hello to Arthur! Arthur is a beautiful kitten, about 13 or 14 weeks old, mostly white but with a few patches of orange – and an orange tabby tail! He’s sweet and loving and looking for a new home. Arthur has been neutered, vaccinated, and tested negative for feline leukemia and feline aids. If you are interested in this beautiful boy, please contact Diane at: c4pcats@aol.com or (908) 377-4579. "A meow massages the heart."

Peppermint Patty is Home Sweet Home

This lucky little kitty was rescued from a shelter in January.  She is now living the life of luxury with her best new human friend and the rest of the family.  Doesn't she look absolutely content?  This is what makes fostering such a worthwhile endeavor.  Thank you to Peppermint Patty's new family for giving her such a wonderful home.

Lucy and Lawrence

Lawrence's request to Santa was answered!  Our sweet foster kitty, Lawrence, was pictured on our website for the last few weeks with a photo of him on Santa's lap.  It seemed to us that Lawrence was asking for a great forever home for not just him, but his foster sister Lucy as well.  You see, Lawrence is such a sweet and affectionate kitty, that he could have had a home some time ago.  But, Lawrence is the caretaker for his special sister Lucy.  Lucy has neurological problems caused by a virus that she had as a baby.  The virus left her with lots of shakiness, so she stumbles and falls down frequently and is not graceful as most kitties are.  Lawrence is much bigger than Lucy, but had a special bond with her, and let her follow him wherever he went.  His tolerance and caretaking even went so far as to include permitting Lucy to knead on him and suck on his neck as if he were her mother.

We just couldn't see how Lucy could thrive without Lawrence.  Christmas came and went with no home for Lawrence and Lucy.  Then, on December 29th, a mother and her daughter came into our adoption event looking for a little kitten.  They spent a long time looking at the cats and kittens and took a liking to Lawrence (although he's certainly not a little kitten anymore!) because he was so affectionate.  Lucy also seemed to bond with them and was comfortable in their arms.  It certainly was not their intention to adopt TWO bigger kittens, but...as pictured here, Lawrence got his wish from Santa!!!

Many, many thanks to this family for having room in their hearts for these special felines!

Milo

"Milo is doing very well. The dogs get along great with him. I'm able to leave them all home in the house together without any worries which is a wonderful feeling. How was your Christmas? Mine was pretty good. Just a lot of running around. I just wanted to send you a Christmas picture of Milo with his snowflake shirt. haha =o)

Hope you have a wonderful New Year. "

Amazing feline fact  #4:

If your cat is near you, and her tail is quivering, this is the greatest expression of love your cat can give you. If her tail starts thrashing, her mood has changed --- Time to distance yourself from her.

Did You Know?

During her productive life, one female cat could have more than 100 kittens

Come Visit Us!

While we do not have a central facility for our foster animals, we still welcome you to come visit us. Our volunteers are at local pet stores in Madison and East Hanover on most Saturdays and at other various locations throughout the year - check the webpage for a list of places. We are also more than happy to have interested adopters or those thinking about volunteering to come to our foster homes to see our rescued kitties.

Cause 4 Paws, Inc. is a small, all-volunteer feline rescue group. We have been in existence for almost 10 years, any have already found homes for over 1,800 orphaned cats.

We rescue cats and kittens from local neighborhoods and area shelters that would otherwise be euthanized. Because we have only 4 foster homes, we are limited in the number of cats that we can take in at a given time, and are always looking for new foster homes so that we can increase our numbers.

We offer assistance with low cost spaying and neutering and also provide help to people that are interested in trapping, spaying, neutering, releasing feral cats.

Cause 4 Paws, Inc. volunteers can be found just about every weekend at pet stores in Madison and East Hanover showing the foster cats that are looking for homes. We also welcome potential adopters to our homes to see foster cats at other times.

Please give us a call or send us an email to find out more about our group, to ask about a cat, or to become a volunteer! Diane: (908)232-4153 (mailto:C4pcats@aol.com?subject=Cause 4 Paws, Inc) or Christine: (908)687-4227 (cmwagner@erols.com).
